Je ne suis pas une bombeclose

I’m not a blonde bombshell - Book

This essay by Caroline Rochet, a society journalist with the magazine Marie Claire, dissects and attempts to understand the obsession with appearance that exists in society today. After reminding us that 99% of the population is “normal” physically speaking, the book explains how this obsession with appearance settles in, how to survive in the jungle of aesthetics that surrounds us, and why the fact of not being a blonde bombshell is far from being a tragedy, and is actually a blessing.
To accompany the text, the illustrations are humoristic and poetic, light-hearted and convincing. Dwelling on the natural beauty of women or on their often imaginary complexes, the drawings, in black and white, were later re-edited in colour for an article published in March 2009 in the magazine Marie Claire.
